Based on my thaughts after the ending of Costume Quest 2 (With Cronoculus and Orel that Game) based on the last dialogue from the friends: Everett said Something about a comet which he'll look at together with Lucy and said to the twins that he hopes they say they won't come because he wants to be alone with her and they said to Lucy they won't come. so the Story starts there, at the evening from the watching. And If you played the game, you'll know that they like each other really.
