In March 2019, Marine Corporal Aidan Sepret and Petty Officer Chelsi Hallens are part of a squad investigating a suspected terrorist target near the New Afghan border. During the ensuing firefight, Sepret is injured by a grenade, and his squad member Sergeant Al-Qatma is killed. This tragic event establishes the ongoing conflict with terrorist forces and the growing bond between Sepret and Hallens. Over a year later, on Halloween 2020 in Huntsville, Alabama, Terror's Hand operative Donav Vokner executes a devastating terrorist attack, detonating explosives that cause widespread destruction. This act of terror serves as a catalyst for the formation of Task Force Dagger, a multinational counter-terrorism unit that Sepret and Hallens become part of.
