The Koreas were victims of Japanese Imperialism for thirty-six years, deprived of freedom in their own country. Helmi's parents are the representations for Finland and Russia as countries. Growing up in such a family was difficult enough, until he showed up. A story of China and the USSR/Soviet Union I thought of while listening to "Married Life" (you know, the sad music from UP). Slightly historical with some AU (I needed to write something other then angsty endings) I may have lost my touch as I was finishing this up so I'm terribly sorry for that.
