At Hawthorne Collegiate, reputation is everything - until someone dies. Jade Rivera was a quiet scholarship student in a school built for legacy. When she's found dead after an apparent fall, the story the school tells is neat, tragic, and clearly false. Monet Brookes isn't convinced. As the daughter of two high-profile attorneys, she knows how to spot a narrative crafted to protect power, and Hawthorne is full of people with something to hide. But peeling back the polished surface of campus life means exposing more than just one lie. As Monet digs deeper, she finds herself caught between privilege and justice, old secrets, and new alliances. And the closer she gets to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes to keep asking questions.

Probabilmente hai sempre nuove idee e tanto entusiasmo. ################################ Oltre all'osservazione diretta delle cose. ################################

"Release me at once!" Was shouted throughout the dim night. "Death is your only friend now, thief!" An enraged voice countered and sent chills down any bystander's spine. "If it weren't for my sword being stripped from my side, your head would be rolling on the very ground that you stand upon." It sounded of no threat, but a promise made by the thief. As I neared the small clearing, the light from the torches burned my poorly adjusted sight. When my vision was finally suitable, I witnessed the thief was indeed a man, his teeth gritted with rage. Though his eyes, the storm within them captivated me so. No man such as he could be labeled as that, especially when his eyes screamed his innocence. "That will be enough." I called out to all those to hear. All cheers, all arguing seized at that moment as they turned to whomever interrupted. "Your Highness." The voice in the crowd was but a whisper, but everyone heard it's ring. Then, his eyes met mine. My breath hitched from his intensity.

Story Description for Wattpad Title Suggestion: "The Last Badge" or "Night Shift" Description: Some calls change everything. Officer Jim Miller has been patrolling Raccoon City's quiet streets for twenty years. He knows every corner, every regular, every routine domestic call that comes through dispatch. Tonight should be just another shift-him and his partner Frank Coleridge sharing donuts, talking about Little League games, and handling whatever minor disturbances break the suburban peace. But the call to 1425 Westwood Lane isn't routine. The front door isn't just broken-it's been destroyed from the inside out. The blood trail leads to something that defies explanation, something that bullets can't stop and tasers can't touch. Something that used to be Richard Conway, insurance adjuster, devoted husband, and model citizen. As Frank fights for his life in the hospital with a wound that no doctor can explain, Jim discovers that the horror they witnessed isn't an isolated incident. It's a symptom of something much larger, something the city's leadership is desperately trying to hide. And when Chief Irons personally calls to "clarify" what Jim's report should say, he realizes he's not just a cop anymore. He's become a witness to the beginning of the end. In the rain-soaked streets of Raccoon City, the men and women who swore to protect and serve are about to discover that some threats can't be arrested, some crimes can't be solved, and some truths are too dangerous to report. From the squad car to the nightmare-experience the Raccoon City outbreak through the eyes of those who wore the badge when the badges stopped mattering.

Amazing cover by @KatherineWitherspoon! Loretta's a little stressed out. She's got a dead (murdered?) brother, mentally unstable mom, and an aunt who thinks the best solution is to send Lorrie to her father's friend in Ohio, a (maybe attractive?) Air Force pilot who's feeding off the government's lies. About aliens. Oh, yeah. There are aliens. Forget the Russians and Korea and the terrifyingly unjust way of life of a girl in 1951, Lorrie's in way over her head. It's going to be a crazy summer. Rural Kansas, 1951. Six months ago, fifteen-year-old Loretta's brother died in a tragic accident. Now she struggles to take care of herself and her lost, neglectful mother. After an incident that proves she's no longer up for the task, she's sent to live with her late father's friend. The night before she leaves, she witnesses the unimaginable...aliens. When people brush off her encounter as grief and anxiety, Loretta sets out to prove she isn't the broken girl everyone thinks she is, and that extraterrestrials are more science than science fiction. But her pent-up emotions are rising, and it's only a matter of time before she's forced to face not the truths she wants to find, but she ones she can't accept. When things spiral into the impossible, Loretta learns that appearances are charades, and everyone has secrets as dirty as her own-secrets that, when messed with, may have consequences bigger than life itself.
