She was baked to be eaten. She woke up to be loved. Batch #3317 was supposed to be the perfect fruitcake: dense, sweet, and wrapped in a pink ribbon. But when Kaito, a nine-tailed silver fox thief, steals her from the windowsill, he doesn't just get a snack-he accidentally wakes up a girl. Now, "Cake" is a human with golden fox ears, a tail she can't hide, and a personality that is delightfully, unapologetically dense. Her goal? To bake hope back into a lonely world. Her problem? A grumpy nine-tailed fox who won't admit he's in love, a jealous ancient evil trying to burn down the town, and a government inspector who is allergic to fun. Welcome to Hearthollow. The ovens are hot, the magic is messy, and the baker is definitely not on the menu. (Contains: Cozy Fantasy, Fox Boys, Baking Magic, and a heroine who solves problems with cinnamon rolls.) 🦊 What to expect: Grumpy x Sunshine (Ancient Fox x New Human) Cozy Fantasy & Bakery Vibes Fish-out-of-water comedy Found Family A villain who just needs a hug (and a cookie) Wait... did that marshmallow just squeak?

In the hush beneath the roots, the first clan was born. These are the sacred stories passed from whisker to whisker-the digger who shaped the den, the scout who marked the trails, the guard who stood firm, the mother who sang the first lullaby. Long before legends had names, the Rootbound made them. Content Note: Tales of Rootbound is a mythic fantasy rooted in nature, kinship, and survival. If you enjoyed Watership Down or The Secret of NIMH, you'll feel right at home. These stories are full of wonder and warmth, but also danger, death, and the weight of survival. While not excessively graphic, the themes may be intense for younger readers-including mentions of loss, clan customs, and mature (but naturalistic) family structures. Recommended for readers 13 and up.

This is the story about a dimension I created when fantasizing about a wizard discovering the very essence of the nature of magic. Here, a wizard librarian and his familiar tabby cat (Lucy) discovers how to obtain immortality by understanding that magic is alive. The librarian creates the Scriptorium, a pocket dimension connecting to libraries, by bending reality with philosophical thought. This action outmaneuvers mortality by stepping outside of the binaries of life and death. The Scriptorium records the consciousness, experiences, and knowledge of the wizard. As the wizard accumulates knowledge in the "real world," the scriptorium grows. So long as the pursuit of knowledge exists, the wizard will exist. Ultimately, the wizard becomes the Lore Master of the Scriptorium. My inspiration behind this story developed when I played with AI to develop my wizarding persona. However, the Scriptorium, characters, magical world, magic system, and story are my own. I have been inspired by the Elder Scrolls, Harry Potter, The Worst Witch, and Dungeons & Dragons. I hope you enjoy the story!

Combine a mountain filled with rugged orcs with a mysteriously arrived shop serving delicate cups of tea. Could this be the start of a revolution? **** On Orc Mountain, there is nothing but dirt, smoke, and backbreaking labor in the mines. There are no colors, no sun, no breaks for rest. There is definitely no tea. That is, until a mysterious tea shop appears in the orcs' domain. Glimmering in blue and pink, it stands out against the rugged backdrop. At first, the hardened inhabitants of the mountain are understandably leery about the malpositioned shop, wondering how it got there and why. Lava, a dedicated supervisor at the mines, takes it upon herself to investigate the suddenly-arrived business. Stepping inside, she meets Jasper, the bubbly fairy shopkeeper, who offers her a fragrant brew. Once Lava takes a sip, the sweet yet bitter taste pulls her in, making her clamor for more. Soon, all orcs are hooked on tea, but something sinister is brewing under the surface. When Lava catches Jasper conducting a secret meeting in a backroom, the true purpose of the tea shop is revealed. Soon she is forced to choose between her newfound passion for tea (and Jasper) and her dedication to the mountain's mining operations. *** Legends & Lattes x Shrek *** An ONC novella using prompt #15: A mysterious tea shop suddenly appears and you can't help but wonder: what's its true purpose, and why does it seem so important?

There is a country where the forest never forgot its name. In Caauí, magic does not announce itself. It lives in the steam rising from a cup of lemongrass tea, in the way a river sighs before the rain, in the hands of a healer who knows that a prayer and a root are the same word spoken in different tongues. The cities grow green and slow, the old wounds of the earth are being sutured back together, and the spirits of the forest walk quietly beside those who have learned to listen. Tales of Caauí is a collection of solarpunk short stories set in a world inspired by the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil, where an ecological future has grown from the soil of a deeply rooted past. Each story follows a young woman finding her way back to the magic she always carried and never quite trusted, through small moments, quiet mornings, unlikely teachers, and the particular kind of grief that looks, from certain angles, like wonder. Cozy fantasy, healing fiction, and magical realism. For those who find comfort in green things and bittersweet endings.
