[Book 1] Crawlers: once normal people like you or me. They had hobbies, families, friends, interests, but now they are feral monsters. The infection spread, wiping out almost half the human race, and leaving the rest as either Crawlers or Survivors. The infected's eyes will black out, before giant, black, bug-like legs will rip out of their back, giving them a newfound speed and agility, as well as an insatiable bloodlust. Body fluids entering any open wound, including the eyes, mouth, and nose, will seal the person's fate; they are now infected. It won't be long before they start screeching at the moon in a mock howl. My biggest question is, can I save my humanity? Or will I simply become part of the mindless feral swarm?

The Lurkers are the worst, they hunt in groups and will try to lure you away from your group, they will also watch from afar to learn things, like how to open a door.
