The only reason Jaune was alive was so the clan could use him; they were in danger. In other words, he was their nuclear bomb, and that's all they saw him as-a ticking time bomb to be used on their enemies. Jaune's spoiled half-brother, Alister Kuroko, was sent by the clan to replace him and lead Team PRN, and to force Jaune out of Beacon by any means necessary. But what they did not know was that this would only push Jaune further. Their constant abuse of him would be their undoing, as it would lead to Jaune reawakening the semblance the clan had sealed in fear. He was Jaune Arc, and all of reality trembled before him.
