You become neither here nor there. This is your funeral where you haven't quite died, but in reality, you are lost forever." I left the vibrant, chaotic warmth of Pukhtunkhwa, my heavenly province for a single purpose: to become a student in the far northern reaches of Finland, a heaven of white trees, or, frankly speaking, to help my family come out of poverty. But the Arctic silence is not just cold , it is consuming. As I step off the plane into a world of endless forests and frozen lakes, I am instantly faced with the agonising solitude of the wayfarer: a life where old bonds dissolve, and a profound sense of alienation takes hold. This is my unfiltered journey, a young man who must navigate gruelling interrogations, the kindness of strangers, and the deep, personal anxiety of giving up everything for an uncertain future. It is a story of fierce emotional endurance set against the backdrop of the ethereal Northern Lights and the tranquil town of Lappeenranta. In the stillness of the first snow, I am forced to find life's truest wisdom - not in logic, philosophy, or tradition, but in the lessons whispered by the great forests. I went looking for an education, but I discovered the only thing that could save me: The Music of the Trees. Welcome everyone to my journey.

~ This memoir chronicles the journey of Mia Z. Edwards, exploring the significant places and influential figures that have shaped her life. From the housing projects of Southeast Washington, D.C., where the strength of her mother served as a profound foundation, to the wisdom of neighborhood matriarchs. Mia navigates heartbreak and demonstrates remarkable resilience in her pursuit of employment on Capitol Hill, despite having only a high school education and no prior job experience. She sought spiritual healing after experiencing a traumatic betrayal, confronted the challenges of working within the government, and prepared mentally for two transformative years of travel on behalf of the U.S. government. The culmination of these experiences empowered her to become an indispensable office secretary to high-ranking government officials, contributing to the emergence of her captivating storytelling voice. Crafted through poignant vignettes, the narrative reveals one truth at a time, structured in six parts: Foundations, Networking, Betrayal, The Tyrant Boss, Business Travels, and Secretarial Diaries. On genuine connections and the people you meet once. Lee is an artist at a film festival, staying on the fringes of a crowd where everyone is busy selling a version of themselves. She's used to being an observer until she meets Ray, a filmmaker who feels unexpectedly real in a transactional room. Over twenty-four hours, they share a series of genuine interactions that make the noise of the festival disappear. But as the weekend winds down, the connection becomes as fleeting as the event itself. It is a story about the rare comfort of being seen by a genuinely good person, and the quiet melancholy of a moment that might only be meant to last a day.

Life as a conscious being is like being forced on a roller coaster you don't meet the height requirements for. Our X and Y donors Smuggle us past signage clearly Warning of dangers of the ride; all the while assuring us, "It's Fine little one." This is where we all begin our custom made thrill ride. Some of us are fortunate beyond understanding to have amazing parents on either side of us, pulling the safety bar down nice and snug for the ride ahead. Some of us witnessed a childhood friend experiencing this this rarity in their life...and resented them for it. How could we NOT. When the ride lurched forward for you and I, we found ourselves with One riding partner, if ANY, that quickly made us aware they were not an experienced rider, everything is NOT ok and the one safe place you thought was immovable, appear more afraid than you... if they didn't bail before the ride started. "It takes a village" is a commonly used phrase to describe raising a child. What happens when there is no village? How does a child respond to a "village" that only exists in stories? This is a creation story. The Creation of the "village" necessary to survive the ride we call life. I'm going to introduce my "village" which I'll Be referring to as: The Council of B's and / or The 12 B's among other things. These "B's" are representative of a specific part of my self that were created to cope, understand and process dealing with the real world. Sometimes it's Trauma leading to the birth of a "... sometimes it's Joy... Anger...Embarrassment all equal opportunity creators of Bs. Learning to ride the wave like a sunrise surf is a journey filled with fear, disappointment, resentment but most of all, forgiveness and empathy leading to the life changing act of practicing gratitude. Gratitude for both the low and high points along the parabolic line of life. Let me introduce ya to the B's
