Because we have to better people for our people. My people we must be better people, period! If we want change, we must be the change we wish to see in the world. My people we must treat ourselves better. We must treat each other better. So, here I am spreading peace, love, blessings, & change.🌹✨

There are just people who doesn't seem to understand the true power of a bullet. They don't realize all that they really do once they pull a trigger. All they care about Is hurting someone within that moment. They never think about the many people that they'll hurt by making such a terrible decision.

The first word that people always choose to describe black women is "strong" which is true. However, we're not always strong. We're often expected to keep a smile on our face even when we're so busy struggling with carrying the world on our shoulders. Literally. We're not expected to have any kind of reactions. Or feelings. But we can only play the "superwoman" role for so long. Eventually we'll breakdown. Due to so many things that are already breaking us down.

A poem about the mixed feelings associated with leaving high school and transitioning into adulthood. Through the use of imagery and rhyme, the poet effectively conveys their unease and apprehension as they face the unknown of what the future holds.
