This short story is a reimagining of a classic Greek mythology figure: Talos, the First Robot, who appears in several myths-most notably, Jason and the Argonauts and King Minos of Crete. No prior knowledge of Talos is needed to enjoy this story; however, Ted-Ed has a wonderfully animated and voiced 5-minute video about Talos, which was the primary inspiration for my story. We didn't get any feedback on the assignment :/ constructive criticism welcome.

Sixteen years ago, Ciresse fell through the barrier between their world and Earth's. Sixteen years ago, their wife died and their second child was born. Sixteen years ago, their eight-year-old was left alone, King of the throne that both his parents had so abruptly vacated. And now, finally, Ciresse has found their way back home- though maybe not in the way they expected. Written for my Creative Writing class, published as the final, and set in my own well-worn and well-loved universe.

"They didn't deserve it. Why were they taken from me?" I demanded through tears. "All will be revealed in time Ms Collins." she said. I heard a faint click and quickly turned around, only to be faced with the barrel of a gun.

A collection of short stories and poems I did for my Creative Writing classes. I may eventually turn a few of them into something longer, but for now, they will remain as they are.

I'm in a creative writing class and our first exercise was to pick at least 3 photographs and use that as inspiration. I picked four pictures (on cover) and came up with this mediocre short story and figured why not post it.
