After all, you wanted to help people; to do something meaningful in this world that'll leave a lasting fingerprint in history or people's memories. But then Toby Rogers, a homeschooled outcast who might be even more of a freak than she is develops a morbid interest-or what normal people call a crush-on her. And she's also getting stalked by a mysterious entity called the Operator. All of a sudden, Y/N's plastic pumpkin isn't enough to shield her away from the world and keep her safe anymore. No, she wasn't going to take it off, but somehow, Toby was still interested in her even with it on.

So, with no one else to help and no escape, the Reader does the bidding of the ring. As they begin to sell and deal in the edges of the forest, mostly to mean teens and homeless druggies, they begin to run into stranger and stranger clients...
