After my third visit to Crete, I decided to write down my thoughts about this beautiful Greek island. Crete has the way to enchant every visitor.

Crete is Greece's biggest island situated in the southern Aegean Sea adjoining Europe, Asia and Africa on three continents. Crete is a country of excellent history that can be traced back to the first legends and myths. According to Greek mythology, Crete was the birthplace of Zeus "The Father of Gods and Humans" who later kidnapped Phoenicia Europa's lovely nymph and relocated it to Crete. She then gave birth to Minos through marriage bliss, who then became the "King of the Minoans" and King of the first European civilization named after his mom Europa, who gave her name to the continent known as Europe.

This chapter reviews the story of Chandax, the capital of the Emirate of Crete (820s- 961), and its capture by the Byzantine army led by General Nikephoros Phokas. The author attempts to match the evidence extracted from Byzantine and Arab chronicles. He added facts about using the trebuchets, setting up military encampments, and undermining the walls of citadels.

Theseus has always wondered about who his father is. He lived in Troezen, Greece, with his mother Aethra and their servant Aello, where every day all Theseus had to do is worry about what his best friend Jason and he are going to do. When he finally learns of his heritage, adventure leads him to Athens, where he learns more about Crete and what the wicked King Minos is making the Athenians do. He realizes that his destiny is to stop the Cretans and save Athens from Minos' revenge. Things look bleak for Theseus, and a rash decision to go to Crete as bait begins to seem stupid. However, when he meets Ariadne, Princess of Crete, he sees opportunity, hope, and future. Princess Ariadne becomes something more important to Theseus, a person he must protect with the strength that he protects Athens. Some gods are with Theseus, and some are against him, but only the Fates can guide him back.

Anastasia's whole life has been anything but interesting. Rowan has been given a mission; retrieve the princess and bring her back to Crete. He was instructed that she would be safer there on her sixteenth birthday. Originally, the plan had been to keep her in an isolated town in Texas but the sorceress might have found her location by now and is just biding her time. I know this story may sound cheesy. I thought so too when I read through this synopses that I wrote but it really isn't all that bad. I just wasn't sure how to summarize it since there is so much that happens in it. But I promise that if you give it a a try you will not be disappointed.
