Luke Edwards, un chico de 16 años de edad que vive solo en Los Ángeles, California, ya que sus padres debían volver a Londres y dirigir la empresa familiar. Asiste a la preparatoria Francoise Dupont, no solo es popular entre las chicas de su escuela, si no también es bueno en casi todas las actividades que se le presentan. Melody Marie, es una chica de 14 años de edad, que decide vivir por su cuenta al mudarse a Los Ángeles e inscribirse en el instituto Francoise Dupont, el cual no solo era secundaria, si no también preparatoria y universidad. Ella es algo torpe en el sentido de que se equivoca mucho, no es buena en matemáticas, pero cualquier cosa que tenga que ver con escribir, hablar y/o expresarse frente a un público se le da muy bien. El día en el que Melody es transferida al instituto se reúne con sus viejas amigas, platican sobre sus vidas y pronto discuten sobre la escuela. En ese momento a Luvek, una de sus compañeras, les propone que jueguen voleibol, a lo cual todas acceden. Melody estaba algo distraída lo cual causa que la pelota le pase rozando por la mejilla. La pelota cae y rueda hacia el pasillo de preparatoria, como todos ya sabían incluyéndola, estaba prohibido poner un solo pie en el pasillo, esa regla solo aplicaba para los de secundaria. En tal momento repentino, ella intenta no poner ni un dedo en el pasillo, pero eventualmente no alcanzo la pelota, mientras ella veía la pelota, un chico alto, güero, oji-azul toma la pelota y se la da. Ella no pudo evitar verlo entrar a su salón. Las amigas de Melody, preocupadas deciden llevarla a las bancas y dejarla ahí descansando, ya que claramente estaba muy distraída. Así fue como Luke y Melody se conocieron, sin decir una palabra.

Deaf student, Abby, is tired of the bullying and harassment that is going on in her school. She wants to prove to the world and her classmates that just because she is deaf doesn't mean that she can't be a hero and do normal, everyday things.
