Abhishek Sharma is a 25-year-old second grade teacher who's learned to live carefully and quietly. Pat Cummins is a 32-year-old cardiologist too busy fixing hearts to worry about his own. That is until a visit to his nephew's Career Day changes everything. Their first meeting is ordinary: a classroom introduction, a handshake, a polite smile. Any somehow, they just can't seem to forget each other.

"okay. then you do something for me." "sure. of course," the girl says, her jhumkas glimmering in the daylight. "name it." smriti pretends to think. "buy me a chai." "a chai?" "yeah. why not?" she's had worse ideas. that's for sure. there was nothing wrong with having a cup of chai, especially if it counted as fan out reach. this was her being kind and grateful, not making up excuses to keep talking to the slightly crazy, but mostly sweet girl that barrelled into her. "buy a chai for the greatest cricketer in india...right..." she whispers under her breath, wringing her hands together. she looks back up at smriti. "is this something you normally do?" ------------------ where, smriti mandhana, currently the captain of the rcb, is hit square in the heart by local, aisha kartha. and on a bicycle, no less.

"Pat, a question on Virat Kohli. There are rumours this could be his last Test tour here. What would it mean to you, as an opponent, if that were the case?" Virat pulled the towel away from his face and watched, his heart a stone. He noticed the tiny flinch that was unrecognisable to the rest of the world. "It's always been a wonderful contest," Pat began diplomatically. "He brings a bit of theatre to the game..." Theatre? Virat's jaw clenched. Is that what he calls our 'forever'? Just a bit of theatre? Is that what he calls the nights we talked until dawn? The way he'd sneak into my room just to hold me while I slept after a bad day? The way he learned to make chai because he knew it was comforting for me?
