This is the story of an educated woman named Evangeline Kingsleigh. She was once the daughter of the wealthiest merchant in the whole kingdom; well besides the king. When she was young her Mother died of an illness and left her Father alone with himself, Evangeline and her two older brothers. However; her brothers married and moved into the countryside and left Evangeline and her Father by themselves. Her father married again before his next trip, and left poor Evangeline with her new Step-Mother and sisters. But alas, her Father died on his trip home by robbers, and left poor Evangeline with her cruel Step-Mother. Thankfully her daughters were kind. After a riding accident, she became a maid in the Mr.Smiths house. She was to look after his ten children and keep the house clean. After getting to know the widowed man, she starts to have feelings for him. But who would ever love a maid?
