Why do we always want what we can't have? And then once we finally get it we don't want it. Or we want the opposite of what we have. Or maybe we are just sad and can't find what makes us happy. Well actually I found what makes me happy. I just have one tiny problem. That same thing make my twin sister happy too. And he's who I want. And I don't think sharing is the way to go. Ashlyn and Carson are opposites in every way possible (Well except they both are pretty). The only way they are the same is that they both have their eyes on the same guy. And that guy happens to have his eyes on one of the twins, maybe even the wrong one.

Now, their traveling around the country, and conducting one off-kilter investigation of what the government (a.k.a., the FHIB) is really up to. Professional contractor Alick Durare is sent to start trouble between two mafia families. The task itself is not too much of a challenge, however it came with unforeseen consequences: accidentally catching someone else in the crossfire. Not wanting to leave them behind, Alick flees with a shaky partner in tow and tries to find a new life for them. This is my first published work. It was originally a short story written for my friend's birthday, but I decided to share it out. I would greatly appreciate some feedback about the writing and I do hope you enjoy the story.

*Disclaimer: I wrote this book back in school, so it's a bit subpar, but I get a kick out of it, and I hope you will too.*** After the peculiar and puzzling deaths of six local students, Sara Foley, a senior in High School, is forcibly sent overseas by her mentally unstable and misguided mother, to stay with "relatives," who could just as easily qualify as strangers, for how well known or trusted they are by the Foley family. It is summer, and Sara is accompanied on her journey by her older sister Ann, who has been instructed to look after her during their stay in Ireland. Completely irresponsible, her eighteen year old, "older" sister conjures more chaos than she quells. On their first night abroad the sisters Foley get lost - in both body and spirit - having drunkenly strayed miles away from their intended homestay. Rote Idlers' Palimpsest chronicles their cross-country adventures, wherein they encounter allies, enemies, (love interests and lunatics) accomplices, and characters arguably more detached and deranged than they themselves. In the end they grow to suspect an elevated level of the esoteric runs the elaborate and eclectic lines of their family lineage, yielding some, but not all answers as to the cataclysmic deaths that set their initial journey in motion.

Miles Without Incident is a slow-burning, character-driven road-trip novel that begins with perfect tranquility and ends with a chilling twist no reader will see coming. Four strangers share a cross-country drive across the United States - a trip so smooth it almost feels unnatural. No breakdowns, no wrong turns, no delays. Just miles of open road, shared stories, and growing emotional ties. As the landscapes shift from rolling plains to rugged mountains, the travelers slowly open up, revealing old wounds, fractured relationships, and unresolved secrets. The journey becomes a moving portrait of people learning to trust, forgive, and rediscover themselves. But the moment they reach their final destination, the perfect trip shatters. Kidnapped and taken to a mysterious warehouse, the group awakens to discover that their pasts may be connected in ways they never realized. As the truth is revealed piece by piece, the line between coincidence and conspiracy blurs - and when escape finally feels possible... ...the story ends on a cliffhanger that leaves readers breathless, desperate for more. A wholesome journey. A terrifying reveal. A road trip that was never about the road at all.
