Not wanting to leave them behind, Alick flees with a shaky partner in tow and tries to find a new life for them. This is my first published work. It was originally a short story written for my friend's birthday, but I decided to share it out. I would greatly appreciate some feedback about the writing and I do hope you enjoy the story.

Especially when the handsome, funny, can't stop thinking about him, Big Al's delivery boy seems to have a habit of showing up unexpectedly.

Finally coming to a shelter as a rescue with hardly any papers to prove her existence and a bitter attitude towards mankind, it seems she will be stuck there forever. | A pair of twins, having almost been sent to a foster home, can't trust the people they are closest to. He with the scars to prove it, and she with the memories she could never outrun. Working for their lessons at a local shelter, they quickly come across a stunning horse soon to be known as "That Mare." A screaming, flailing, kicking, fighting, bundle of fury, she is practically unapproachable. Yet they are drawn to her, the known bits of her story. They understand her anger, her hurt, her pain. Soon the two are doing everything they can to be as close to her as possible. First wary of each other, soon their curiosity of each other's story grow a friendship between them. Their shrewd outlook on life and suspicion of others bonds them. Their trust in their group only grows. The twins are the only ones who can risk touching the pure-bred Arabian of fire, wind, and sun. The two children/teens teach her to be ridden and are a perfect match. But they need to own the mare officially before anyone can tear them apart for good.

*Disclaimer: I wrote this book back in school, so it's a bit subpar, but I get a kick out of it, and I hope you will too.*** After the peculiar and puzzling deaths of six local students, Sara Foley, a senior in High School, is forcibly sent overseas by her mentally unstable and misguided mother, to stay with "relatives," who could just as easily qualify as strangers, for how well known or trusted they are by the Foley family. Completely irresponsible, her eighteen year old, "older" sister conjures more chaos than she quells. On their first night abroad the sisters Foley get lost - in both body and spirit - having drunkenly strayed miles away from their intended homestay. Rote Idlers' Palimpsest chronicles their cross-country adventures, wherein they encounter allies, enemies, (love interests and lunatics) accomplices, and characters arguably more detached and deranged than they themselves. In the end they grow to suspect an elevated level of the esoteric runs the elaborate and eclectic lines of their family lineage, yielding some, but not all answers as to the cataclysmic deaths that set their initial journey in motion.

||I own nothing except for Remy White and her backstory|| Remy White was a cross country champion, it was plain and simple. She had broken many records set previously by the boys in her old school. As a young freshman, she beat out five juniors and two seniors for their record. As a sophomore, she beat more of them, breaking three more records. As a junior, the trophy case was filled with cross country trophies with her name on them. It all changed when her father was fired and their family moved to McFarland, a small and poor town that in the words of their own residents "No one ever stays in, unless they have to" and she helps her Dad create their Cross Country team. That is, until she has to join it.
