This is just a short story for kicks. It's literally only a few thousand words long. Two chapters. It was an assignment for my creative writing class, but I couldn't leave it sitting there, unread. So... here you go I guess.

I press her even more and she looks scared. "What are you going to do? Take me against a wall and then leave me?" She asks hatred flashing across her face. I furrow my eyebrows and say, "What are you talking about?" She leaves out a humorless laugh and said, "I'm talking about what you did to me 3 years ago Kayden." A tear slips down her eyes as I stand there confused as hell. What the hell is she talking about? She can't be talking about what I think she is talking about. She pushes my chest and I move back. "This was a bad idea." She shakes her head and wipes away her tears. "I think you should leave." She says slipping into her serious posture and looking at me. "Make sure you never see me again Kayden. Goodbye." She smiles and moves a little back giving me some place to leave. _______________________________ She was scared and shy and wouldn't talk much but then three years later she is outgoing, sears like shit, drinks up an entire bottle of vodka and manages to stand still and then goes wrestling down guys after drinking. Talk about life change. But then, she is Samara Lancaster and not.... But the thing I regret is that I fell in love with her........ But she is on the other side of the line. This is all about CROSSING LINES.

Four years ago, Calliope thought she and Asher had it all - a beautiful daughter, a marriage they fought to build, and a future full of promise. But somewhere between his rising fame and her quiet sacrifice, the cracks began to show. Nights grew longer, arguments sharper, and love... harder to find. When a familiar face from Asher's past returns to drive a wedge between them, Calliope makes the hardest choice of all: to walk away, taking their daughter with her. But love doesn't just disappear - and neither does the pain of betrayal. Asher must face the truth about who he's become and what he stands to lose if he can't show up for his family the way they deserve. In this gripping, emotional sequel to Expecting the Unexpected, E. Grace delivers a heartfelt story of motherhood, marriage, and what it takes to rebuild trust when everything seems broken. Sometimes love means walking away. And sometimes... it means finding your way home again.

Sometimes, the wrong person feels like home. Nmesoma comes to the gym to escape grief, to move, to breathe. Daniel notices. Quietly. Patiently. It starts as kindness. Then glances linger a little too long. Hands brush for just a heartbeat. Words are spoken softly, carrying more than they should. Every moment with him feels like a promise she shouldn't want, a pull she can't resist. And in the spaces between what is said and what is felt, hearts begin to cross invisible lines. Lines We Pretended Not to See is a story about loss, longing, and the quiet tension between Nmesoma and Daniel - where desire whispers, and the heart can't help but listen.
