"I never thought she would jump. She never had the reason to." When the popular Kobayashi Rui of Doshisha private academy takes her own life by jumping in front of a metro train, a first year; Minase is unable to shake the feeling that Rui was killed instead. Her death just didn't make sense, and as an aspiring forensics student, she won't let the opportunity go. Mere days after the fateful incident; when Minase is taking the metro train home, she hears Rui's voice from the lone telephone booth- except no one is there. Every time she steps onto the platform, she hears snippets of Rui's voice as well as conversations playing from the hung up telephone, but no one else seems to be able to hear it. Over time, the snippets of conversation turn to pleas for help, distorted screams and recordings of Rui's last moments, revealing ugly truths one after another. Everyone is guilty of something, she eventually learns. Now, the whole city is changing; crows perch everywhere in Kyoto, along with anomaliesq that shouldn't be there. Minase sets off to find out Rui's killer before it's too late, except now, her fate is too far down the twisted path to easily steer away. For when she reaches the end of the road, death awaits, along with the enlightenment of fiery rebirth.

This story is about 14-year-old Aloe Oak, who is raised in a place called New Mibeji alongside her Father Henry Oak. Sadly, Henry's wife, the mother of Aloe died during childbirth. While living in New Mibeji, the teachings of this place seems.... diffrent, Aloe finds herself dreaming of crows and ravens every night when she tells her teachers they brush her off when she tells her father that it is a warning to leave. Can Aloe and her Father leave that place, or will they be stuck there forever?

She has never whatsoever had any romantic feelings for anyone despite being quite the beauty. Her past is something that haunts her on a daily and has a fear of returning to the volleyball court until a certain sight returns that spark in her heart she once felt.
