"Carrie?" Her attention is brought back to the board. "Carrie, can you come and answer the question?" "I don't know the question sir." She murmurs, earning a few giggles from her class mates. "What is your favorite quote? Come write it on the board." Mr. Roman teases. Carrie stands from her seat and slowly makes her way to the chalk board. Her fingers tremble as she picks up the chalk. "LIFE ASKED DEATH, WHY DO PEOPLE HATE ME BUT LOVE YOU? LIFE ANSWERED, BECAUSE I AM A BEAUTIFUL LIE AND YOU ARE A TERRIBLE TRUTH." Her fingers froze on the last letter. The classroom became deadly silent. "Alright, just take your seat. You've done a great job disturbing the whole class." Mr. Roman erases her words, snatching the chalk from her. As Carrie takes her seat, her eyes land on Tommy. Tommy with pretty brown eyes and sweet pink lips. It's a sin. She tells herself. "You don't have to be an asshole." "What'd you say?" Mr. Roman frowns. "You heard me." Tommy rolls his eyes. Rated R
