I mean, it was made to help us!" He protested. I closed my eyes and sighed slightly. "Mist is a mysterious thing. It floats over land, but never rises higher than your knees. Fog will cover your face, but not Mist. So why does The Mist hide people?" I could see the cogs turning in his brain. "Surely the Fog would hide us, because the Mist does not cover us, you can clearly see us though the Mist, so what does it have to gain from helping us in a way it shouldn't be able to?" He gasped and I lowered my head, looking at the floor. "The Mist has many names though, not just the Mist." He argued. "Which name came first?" I reasoned. "Mist. This is the Asfalís. It means Safe.". Gestures to the civilisation around me. "This place is massive..." He trailed off. "4 secure walls, each with its own line of defense. One is falling. The Fourth. The Mist, is attacking." "Why would it? Why would it attack you?" "That's what it does. Over and over again." *** The Mist is a living thing, and not many know this, but the ones who do question it. It's protects us, so why would it fight us when we know it's living? Another question to add the growing list of them. Whatever you do, don't trust the Mist. It's starting to rise above our knees.
