How will they react when they find out that helping some of their brothers is going to be harder than they thought? And will Jack and David be able to help when they hit bumps in the road? A quick note: I started this (3/7/18) when i was a sophomore in high school, so my writing isn't at all up to par. Constructive criticism is appreciated! 《❗Discontinued❗》 This is my first Newsies fan fiction so bare with me. Main ship-Davey x Jack Side ships-Elmer x Romeo, Race x Albert, and any others I feel like adding in.

Jack Kelly knows that life at Pulitzers School of Fine Arts for Troubled Youth stinks. He desperately wants to get away and live his own life, stand on his own two feet. He wants to go to Santa Fe. Now, that vision is becoming more of a fantasy when he finds that his adopted brother, Crutchies had an accident and worsened his already bad leg and will need at least a year to heal. While Crutchie heals, a new challenge comes along in the form of an intriguing boy named David. Jack still wants to go, but a small part of him is begging him to stay. David Jacobs isn't happy with leaving his normal life in Woodside, but with his father laid up with a torn ACL and broken femur, he's got no choice but to find a way to support himself and his family. And the school offers job opportunities for teens. So off he goes. He is nervous and excited about leaving for school and meeting new people. Although he wasn't exactly sure what he was expecting, a tall, handsome, and sarcastic roommate was not. David doesn't know this funny feeling inside of him means and what living in such close quarters will do for it. Anthony "Racetrack" Higgins is known for his complete lack of respect for authority and quick tongue. This time he's taken it too far and landed himself on the exchange student list and will have to spend two weeks in Brooklyn. Before he got there, Race was a bit intimidated by the Brooklyn boys, but after meeting his roommate Spot Conlons, he might change his mind about the whole situation. Race has fallen head over heels for the buff (NOT SHORT) boy. But does Spot feel the same way? Spot Conlons is none too pleased about being put on the exchange list, and meeting his new annoying roommate is doing nothing to change his mind. He is NOT happy that he ✨𝙷𝚊𝚜✨ to cuddle up next to the taller boy (New York nights get cold don't judge) And he cannot stand that he is completely and totally in love with Racetrack Higgins. This is a sequel to Promise. I highly suggest you read that book first. After finally grasping her freedom from the Refuge, Melody Higgins has been trying for a normal life, or at least as normal as being Manhattan's only resident female newsie can get. I haven't seen too many of these floating around, so I made my own! Anyone is welcome to join!

When Davey's father recovers from his injury and is able to go back to work, Davey and Les no longer have to stay newsies. Les, of course, begs Davey to let him stay, to which Davey reluctantly gives in, but only until the start of next school year. Davey, on the other hand, feels the need to finish his education to be able to get a teaching job, something he's always been passionate about. He entrusts Les's safety to Jack and Y/n, who both happily accept. However, Davey leaving also means Y/n loses one of their closest friends, and maybe something a little more?

But with only a nickel to his name and with the ragtag group he calls friends, it's going to take a little holiday magic to bring Christmas to the boys. This story may turn into a collection of Newsies one-shots, I'm not sure yet, but we'll see.
