Nukes have been in our world since 1945. The United States, thanks to Julius Robert Oppenheimer, with assistance, is the first nation to fully develop the world's first atomic weapons. From there, there have been fears of nuclear wars bound to happen. The atomic weapons have been playing roles in many things. Films, videos, books, almost everything. People have been coming up with ideas on stuff like the Cold War becoming nuclear, or ideas on results of atomic destruction, like nuclear winter. Throughout the years, new bombs became more intense than the last, the most intense being the Tsar Bomba. There were plans for a stronger bomb but that weapon was never built. This Wattpad story details how devastating nuclear weapons, and weapons that defy the laws of matter, can be, and how some people never actually grasp the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction.

True story. In October 1962, Russian submarine officer Vasili Arkhipov refused to sign off on his commander's plan to nuke the U.S. fleet surrounding Cuba during the missile crisis. Such an attack would likely have resulted in a worldwide nuclear weapons exchange; Herman Khan's "Thinking About The Unthinkable" played out in real life and in real-time. Historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. , an advisor to President John F. Kennedy, called this the most dangerous moment in human history.

'The Cuban Missile Crisis was never a threat to world peace' How far do you agree to this statement? **************************************************** The Cuban missile crisis only lasted 13 days but has still been considered one of the biggest threats to world peace so far. However with the readiness of each leader to negotiate and the many pacts put in place, the Missile Crisis may not have been as big of a threat as it was first believed.

This is a fictional story that I got inspired to write after I watched a video on alternate history pertaining to the Cold War. This is the first of many parts. I am still writing and fact-checking many parts of this story so expect more soon. The character's characteristics are based on traits of people I know and a few are based on myself. The events that the characters go through could be a little bit traumatic and young readers should be wary that the events could be violent. I will be using period-correct language for the 1950's, Cold War era. So just a fair warning on that. I promise it won't be racist or vulgar, but it will be language and phrases that were used a lot back then.
