I felt of wanting to know, wanting to understand the whole world around me so I've asked everyone around me. The people around me shunned me away as I am being too curious and always asking questions about everything and couldn't adopt me as I was full of energy and too independent unlike others. Even so, I worked hard, studying, researching as I went through the city's library as I explored everything around me, writing it down trying to understand everything, getting hobbies that none would anticipate me having. I've strived, became independent and as I reached at age of 10, I've tried applying to become a knight as I was trying to find my purpose with my own life. But as I've reached the age of 14, I participate as an squire-a knight in training in the Knights of the Lynx, after the squires are being examined and trained in the castle grounds, while at the knight-ordaining ceremony, an unanticipated phenomenon happened while one of the mages had malfunctioning on casting their magic , affecting others and I unexpectedly got hit and now I transported to a very unknown and unfamiliar place. My eyes widen as I gaze upon my surroundings... At this point, I haven't expected that this would be the turning point that shook my whole perspective and clashing about everything I have learned, teach and understood about. And maybe, just maybe, I might find something that I can finally found worthy to pursue in this very strange world...

I have been living in and out of Korea since 1999. I got my Korean citizenship in 2003 and it is embarrassing that after living in Korea for so long my fluency in Korean is stagnant at intermediate level. I have many friends who visit Korea three to five times a year because of KPOP and KDRAMA. I never understood the fascination until I watched and fell in love with Gong Yoo in The Goblin. The Goblin is the first Korean drama series I have ever watched from start to finish. Now I push myself to watch Korean movies and other series. I am so overwhelmed by all the Korean series available on Netflix. Pushing myself means being determined to watch the first episode. Usually I give up watching after ten minutes. Now I push myself to finish the first episode and decide if the series is worth watching till the end. I want to tell my stories as autobiographically accurate but I don't want to embarrass my friends and family. I will share good stories and nasty stories. There are still more good people in the world than bad people. But it's a fact that bad tragic stories are more entertaining and interesting. These stories are based on my personal experiences, opinions and realisations. I cannot promise that every chapter is a hundred percent accurate. I have to change names and locations but I can 99% promise the anecdotes will be 95% based on true events.

I can recall certain things from every country I've visited. The scent of rain brings back the green pastures of Ireland. Gray rumble can't help but cause my mind to spur with visions of Scotland. Distant fires bring smells that make me remember Ghana. Family pictures take me back to the beaches of the Philippines. Every country I've stepped foot on will always have a place in my heart. And yet, as I sit here at midnight, it always comes back to Japan. I think about the strangers I saw, the temples I walked in, the long hours on the trains. The quiet nights of listening to the dwindling sound of the nightlife outside my apartment, letting the dull glow of the street lights whisk me to slumber. My time in Japan inspired me to keep track of every detail in every day remembered. If I knew that everything I knew would come to a sudden stop, I would have taken care of my journals. I would have made a more vigorous attempt to save the pictures and videos that had been lost from computer corruptions. I would have tried to keep that strong sense of being connected to something higher and meaningful. I'd give up anything to return, even blind to return to the places I once walked in. I miss it all. I cannot forget everything. The stories in this collection are ones I've heard over the past. From family, friends, and strangers, as well as my own personal experiences. With enough time, Fiona will learn to adapt to her new surroundings and maybe even become a part of a family if she's mentally stable enough. They butt heads heads and struggle to coexist in the same space and to both their surprise they end up learning lessons from each other that they will never forget.
