I laugh cruely at his statement remembering my parents last moments. "You cannot be serious?" I ask him, giving him a ' what are you on kind of look '. The captain takes a step closer like he's ready to catch me if I jump. "Dylan, the only one who's gonna drown you is yourself. Think about it, why would I bother saving you out of the lifeboat. Or take that piece of glass out of your stomach if I was just going to drown you?". I think about what he says for a second and his reasoning is pretty solid. Before I could answer him he talk's again. "Do I really look like a worse option than drowning?" I look at him, I mean really look at him. My mother used to be able to tell a person's intentions just by looking at them. Maybe I can somehow acquire that gift. I see no sign of lying or deceit so I decide to take his hand.
