Imagine the ability to jump in the air and fly away on feathery wings; the tremendous power coursing through your veins as you direct a lightning bolt back toward the sky with only your index finger; but now, imagine the weight of an entire world resting on your shoulders. Every spirited young girl has dreams of becoming the Cursor: a girl whose body would absorb the power of the Meridian and become a portal between the mortal and spirit world for just one night each year until her death. However, during the sacrificial ceremony of the Nexgen Cursor, everything changed. Sage, the chosen sacrifice, received all the powers of the Meridian without receiving its consciousness. In the place of the new Meridian the people had been expecting was a foolish young girl who had single-handedly gained all the powers of the gods.

The cursors form a community, utilize their human sympathizers to fulfill their aims but their plans hit a roadblock when their staunch enemy Anti-Cursor enters the fray. The hunt for resources offered by GRIID leaves the humans deprived of their greatest invention and blackmailed to mortgage their dignity before an alien threat. A story set in a not too distant future, an interplay of humanity and its own invention bringing out the true meaning of courage, determinations, values and what it means to be truly intelligent and truly human.
