"Watch where you're going!" the girl snapped, her voice sharp with irritation as she straightened her posture.
The boy, a few years older, glared at her with narrowed eyes. "Maybe if you weren't glued to your phone, you'd see where you're walking."
She scoffed, brushing a strand of dark hair away from her face. "I wasn't glued to anything. Unlike you, I have places to be."
He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms defensively. "Yeah, well, next time, try using your eyes."
Their exchange crackled with tension, each refusing to yield an inch of ground. Passersby glanced curiously at the scene before quickly hurrying past, eager to avoid any confrontation.
"Whatever," the girl muttered, pushing past the boy and continuing down the sidewalk.
He watched her retreating figure for a moment before shaking his head in disbelief. "Unbelievable," he muttered to himself, before turning in the opposite direction and continuing on his way.
As the girl walked, her thoughts churned with annoyance. She couldn't believe the audacity of that boy, bumping into her and then blaming her for the collision. How dare he? She quickened her pace, eager to put the encounter behind her.
Meanwhile, the boy couldn't shake off the encounter either. He couldn't fathom how someone could be so oblivious to their surroundings. It was as if the whole world revolved around her. He shook his head, determined not to give her another thought.
Little did they know, their paths would cross again in the most unexpected of circumstances, and the animosity that ignited during their first encounter would soon give way to something entirely different. But for now, they remained two strangers, each lost in their own thoughts, oblivious to the twists fate had in store for them.
