It's been 5 decades. I have received tons of cards for Christmas during the last 50 years. But, still I wait for one from him. I loved him like a child loves candies. I still do. But, he didn't notice my love, I guess so. He showered his love on another girl who is a close friend of mine. I waited and waited and the card arrived on a cold, frosty, doomy December day- Christmas Day . An unexpected one it was. Written for the Bethlehem prompt contest @TheCVCommunity

Helene Daniels is a young woman with a kind heart. This Christmas she decides to make the Christmas of the children at the local orphanage, the best one ever. She puts her heart and soul into Christmas. Decorations, presents, songs, cheer. She does it all. One snowy night, an old soul lingers around relinquishing memories of old time, recalling the sorrowful memories, as nostalgia fills up the atmosphere. The revered journalist, listens to hearts talk as an unexpected Christmas card fills up the atmosphere with joy and love, a bit of youth and maybe a daughter to quench the hearts wish. It's the 21st of December and Lebron James (believe it or not that's his name 💁🏻‍♀️ 😆), the head of the elves and Santa's special assistant has just told the elves, and everyone else that after several months of battling with his illness, Santa's heart has finally given out. It's four days to Christmas! What are they gonna do? There are kids whose chimneys need a' visitin', whose socks need a gift refill and whose wishes need to come to pass! Lebron has called on everyone: La Befana, The Tomten, Belsnickel, The Ghost of Christmas past and present, even Gryla and her bunch are helping! But it's harder than anyone thinks: Santa is Santa, a legendary legend, how can he be gone? if they save this Christmas, what's going to happen to the next? And the next? And the next? Would there be a new Santa? This is a story with original characters, Chris and James. Chris is a young girl who just moved into her mother's old apartment but she can't pay it alone so she sends out a post saying how she needs a roommate when her old friend James comes and lives with her. But everything changes when they get a letter that was sent 50 years ago. This story takes place in 2025 after covid.
