After complications while on a mission, a nameless assistant awakens to an unjust life in an unjust world, ruled by corporate machines and hedonistic nihilism. Compared to his world, this one might as well be heaven. His comrades won't be long until they punch their way to this world and retrieve him, but in the meantime, he might as well prepare it for eventual research and possible annexation. No attachments. No feelings. Nothing to lose. Everything to gain. An unfeeling ghost, wide awake in the City of Dreams.

" Night City, a heavily polluted futuristic city of California, built upon domestic violence, eddies (eurodollars) and drugs, it has been named the most dangerous place and worst place to live in America. Born into nothing, V, living in the harden streets of Heywood, a low income suburb outside the red light district, was raised by gangs that became family. Night City was cruel, cold, and hardening.
