In a dystopian future where man and machine are one and the law is now an extremely private practice, a man accused of multiple murder is offered redemption. The facts related to him and the people he will have to look for will push him deeper and deeper into the abyss of the human soul, where violence and love merge into a mental and physical war. The large and interconnected metropolises called Drift are the backdrop to the first of a series of sci-fi tales that illustrate a possible future where the denial of being has now become a crude routine, and the rich guard the world from their tall skyscrapers while the masses survive by fighting strenuously on the edge.
