Lieutenant Arthur "Songbird" Kovac is the lead test pilot for the new experimental Mk X Sabre Heavy Fighter for the Colonial Fleet's Project Mercury and is set to unveil it during the decommissioning ceremony for the Jupiter Class Battlestar Galactica the day the second cylon war would start.

The story is set after the ending of Season 4 about 150,000 years in the future in the New Earth. All people alive on Earth today carry some Cylon genes along with human genes - no one is one hundred percent "pure" Colonial human. The new human race is building their own machines. The history seems to be repeating itself. All of this has happened before and will happen again. Virtual Six and Virtual Baltar are always there observing and wondering if the cycle of destruction will ever end.
