"Dear Evan Hansen" is a musical and novel about a high school senior who suffers from severe anxiety and, secretly, depression. When classmate Connor Murphy steals a letter Evan writes to himself as an assignment for his therapist and then proceeds to kill himself, his parents mistake it for a suicide note. Evan is now faced with the challenge of keeping his secret private and trying to help the Murphys. In "Another World," Evan's letter is different, failing to mention Connor's sister and Evan's crush, Zoe. Instead of getting mad, Connor recognizes that Evan, like himself, is suffering from depression. Now the story takes a different turn, and an unlikely friendship comes into being.

Evan Hansen is one month into recovery after surviving a near-fatal suicide attempt. With the help of his friends and his mother, he is healing. He is learning, however, that healing is not linear. There are high points and low points, and nothing about it is easy. This sequel to "Another World" focuses primarily on Evan's recovery, and the lasting depression and regret that comes after an attempted suicide. Many points that are made will be connected to the first book, and I suggest that you read it first! It is also recommended that you have read, watched, or listened to "Dear Evan Hansen."

After a horrifying confession, Evan and Zoe have a talk with each other... (Not really a shipping fic, but you can interpret it however you want.)

This is an unfinished work, originally written by my middle school self, slowly being revamped and re-written by current me. Y/N Murphy thinks she has things all figured out, and it's as simple as this: Everything sucks. School sucks, people suck, her family sucks. And the only person she can rely on is her brother, Connor. But when he takes his own life, hers crumbles around her, and suddenly nothing makes sense anymore. Now she's stuck with unanswered questions about who her brother was, and who she thinks she is. And with Evan Hansen in the picture, things get even messier. She's not supposed to like him. She knows he's doing something unspeakably wrong. And yet at night when she dreams, she dreams of him.

Dear Evan Hansen, I thought today was going to be a normal day. I was going to go out on the oceanographer boat, jump into a divers suit and a heavy metal cage to see the humongous predators that we call great white sharks. A perfectly normal day. But then, it just happened. I couldn't even process what was happening but I knew I was going to die. I knew heard the smash and the crack. I don't even know why or how I'm alive. But I know it has something to do with that long brown hair. I don't know what thing that was, but hopefully it's still there in those blue waters. Just waiting for me. ~Tree Bros~

'Dear Evan Hansen.' The words were easy enough to type, but Dr. Sherman had told him to say them out loud. It was bad enough he had to write letters to himself for therapy- if he had to say them out loud while he was typing them, it would make him feel like even more of a freak. 'Today is going to be a good day and here's why. Because today, all you have to do is just be yourself.'

Evan is the only person who can see Connor. It just so happens that Evan can see ghosts and Connor is close to death.

"You wrote this because you knew I'd find it." I chew at my lip. "You knew I'd find it and freak out." Before I know it he's storming out. After school on the day Evan and Connor have their run-in, Evan happens to help save Connor's life. Their families grow close and now they have to learn to get along, despite Connor's distaste for the anxious boy. They get caught in a lie that winds into a bigger lie of them dating.
