Flapping his new wings, Icarus was like a hatchling taking his first flight. As he glided over the ocean, he gazed up into the heavens. Yearning to meet the gods, he ignored his father's cries and ascended into the clouds...

"The wind in his hair felt nice. It was cooling against the sun and wax that had been burning his back. It reminded him of every moment he sat alone on the window ledge of Minos' tower, praying for some kind of deliverance. Yet, it also reminded him of every moment he sat on the window ledge next to Apollo; he remembered the feeling of Apollo's soft fingers running through his hair, he could remember the feeling of his head against Apollo's chest, listening to his heartbeat. In those moments, he almost felt human." * For a long time, Icarus thought he was alone. Until one night, the world showed him he wasn't. #1st place in the Hip Generation Awards #2nd place in the lgbt category of the Creator's Choice Awards 2020 #1st place in the Atlas Awards 2021 LGBTQ+ category

    ||CONTEST WINNER|| Entry for the ReTold and ReGold contest "Reclaim Your Myths", based on the prompt by AmbassadorsLK "Lutcus Icarus". Icarus was the son of the Greek genius Daedalus whose tragic story became popular as the boy who flew too close to the sun. This is my take on his story. What really made him want to reach the sun? • This story contains lgbt related content and if it makes you uncomfortable, please avoid reading this work. Word count: 1690

Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? And whatever happened to that Golden Fleece? It takes a demigod to know the answers, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atlanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek Heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style readers have come to expect from Percy (I've had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I'm going to tell you about were the original old-school hard-luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before...) and enhanced with vibrant artwork by Caldecott Honoree John Rocco, this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan's legions of devoted fans-and for anyone who needs a hero. So get your flaming Spear. Put on your lion-skin cape. Polish your shield, and make sure you've got arrows in your quiver. Were going back above four thousand years to decapitate monsters, save some kingdoms, shoot a few gods in the butt, raid the underworld, and steal loot from evil people. Then for dessert, we'll die painful tragic deaths. Ready? Sweet. Let's do this.

All the times Youngjae cried, and that one time an angel broke down the door and told him to shut up. But mostly, all the times Youngjae hated the world and the one time he was told to fight. (Though, maybe all he did was went a little insane) It started with a book. A book of myths he's gotten in a fanmail. Only it wasn't about the book but what he made of it. Nobody ever told him the world was broken. So, he thought it was him that was. (Or, every time he tried to cope with coming in second to Jung Daehyun, and the one time he was given a choice)

Always expect the unexpected. Drake is, and has always been living his calm life in middle school where he's the top of the class in creative writing, his friends and teachers are awesome, and Mira is always student council president. Always. Starting from her fifth grade year, Mira always won by a landslide. Every time. She's unbeatable, invincible, and talented, which doesn't really bother Drake that much... What bothers him is the fact that someone wants him to help beat her. It's not that he doesn't want to help. It's the fact that it just isn't possible... or so he thought... Icana always had a big rivalry with Mira, and decides once and for all that she will beat her at something. Drake isn't surprised that she wants the position, but the turn of events is nothing that he expects. *Please vote during the voting stage! I really appreciate it! ;) June 14- June 21 P.S. To all fans of Greek Mythology, have fun trying to figure out which myth I used!
