Daelyn Kelby used to be a normal teenager, going to a normal school, with normal friends-- but things change. One day, out of nowhere, Daelyn gets kidnapped. She has no idea what’s going on or why they took her, but soon everything is revealed. Her kidnappers explain to her that she is wanted, but not by the human world officials; she is wanted in the world of vampyres-- by the Vampyre Council. Daelyn is transported to the Vampyre World and is put before the Vampyre Council. Explanations are put forth, but they don’t mean much when you’re as confused as Daelyn. What she does understand is that she will either be pronounced as Light or Dark and be changed into a vampyre. The catch? It is strictly forbidden for a Light and Dark vampyre to fall in love... but what if it’s inevitable?

She prowled through the intricate maze tunnels. She didn't know where she was going, but there had to be an end somewhere. Then she saw it. A light. She ran to it then slipped on a sewage underfoot. As she got back up, a sharp pain stroke her in the back and then in the neck. As the excruciating pain raced through her body, the picture in front of her became blurry and all she could see was complete darkness.
