Take two characters that seem to have nothing in common. For example, take a beefy bad boy redhead that hated dragons for most of his life, that doesn't show his emotions to most people and that has a slight- just a slight obsession with weapons or just deadly things in general. Next, take a slim, nerdy, brown haired boy with no self-defending skills whatsoever, a "talking fishbone" that was the first one to train and love dragons. They couldn't be more different, right? Wrong. Dagur and Hiccup aren't that different if you take a closer look at them. They share many things, although some may be a secret till a certain point. "Which secrets?" you may ask. Welcome new and old readers to the official re-write of Betrothed! The Dagur/reader fan fiction that was previously written by a 16 year old who had no idea how to write apart from taking GCSE English! Now that I'm graduating University and re-watching the How to train your dragon series, I figure I've got enough motivation to re-write the original Betrothed as well as Forgiveness in the future! A few warnings I'd include are very unhealthy relationships from everyone's favourite Berserker Chief, as well as some slight non-consensual touching (nothing nsfw at all though) and a few non-consensual kisses. There's also like ONE swear in there but I can't remember which chapter. So with that, I hope you enjoy!

When Dagur and the dragon hunters attack the Edge, he's expecting to capture Hiccup, not a six-year-old version of him who doesn't remember anything. He has no idea what happened to Hiccup. He just knows that he's keeping him.

[CURRENTLY ON HOLD] Dagur is back in Hiccup's life after three years and Hiccup can't not notice how much the older boy had changed. After some time, Hiccup realises he's really starting to like that guy, but it's all much more complicated when you take into account the fact that Hiccup is a half merman and has to keep it a secret. This is a How to Train your Dragon AU that I have been working on for a few months now and I'm originally posting it on AO3. I don't know if it's obvious, but this is a Dagur x Hiccup fanfic. A dragon only born once every 400 years. A subspecies of the night fury, the Demon Night Fury. Most call this dragon the Hellfire Fury. Skin as tough as a Razorwhip. Eyes as red as blood. This dragon is one of the most feared dragons in the archipelago. It looks like a night fury but has red markings on its skin. It's plasma blast is red and as hot as a Deadly Nadder's fire. You see Y/n comes from the bloodline of berserkers and is related to Heather and Dagur. She got adopted by Gothi when she first arrived to the island. Hiccup had some things he needed to get over, or it would ruin him, more than it already has. Dagur had gotten over the same things that Hiccup struggles with, but now faces new problems as dragons begin to target Hiccup after an unfortunate event with hunters. "You know the enemy all too well, Hiccup. But do you know YOURSELF?"

You can find a new and improved rewrite of this over on Ao3 (It is titled A Chief's Work [Rewrite] by SpiderQ848) a quick google search will bring it up. Of course I can't stop you from reading this version but that one will probably be slightly more enjoyable.
