"Two Worlds around Us" is a story about Jack, a regular school student in his mid teens doing the oh-so-wonderful Mock Exams. After a long day of doing none other than the daily grind, he decides to relax, or so he thinks. He tries to take a break from the world, but unfortunately fate is not on his side when he accidentally falls into a second world. A second world that he recognises from somewhere, but he just doesn't know where exactly that is. This story is based off of a film. I won't say which one (Unless copyright laws make me) because it will spoil the book.

An epic true story Elizabeth Gibbons Hanson's memoirs take you from her humble beginnings in Burnt Corn Alabama to becoming one of the original supermodels of the 1930s and 40s. Famous fashion photographer Dahl Wolf's original muse Liz's climb to stardom takes you from Alabama to New York City and to Paris, Bermuda, Cuba, Peru and other exotic shoot locations, to the White House and then to far flung Australia and the Phillipines where she was a Red Cross volunteer during WWII. Along the way, Liz intersects with numerous historical people including: FDR, John Powers, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, Diane Vreeland, Somerset Maugham and many other notables. Written in her own self-effacing style Liz's memoirs is a beautiful and honest story as well as a powerful glimpse at her life leading up to and during WWII.

The book begins with a brief account of how the Furyans (Riddick's people), originated as a people and their earliest encounter with the Necromongers. Within this storyline, the attack of the Necromongers, destruction of the Furyans, escape of a few families, Riddick survival, and the circumstances of how he became "Riddick" the outlaw and criminal is outlined. The narrative jumps forward to approximately ten years past his escape from the devil's planet (chronicled in his last movie). The first of three interwoven storylines detail (1) the life and actions of the mercenaries that helped Riddick, (John's and daughter Dahl) and her alliance with the lost Furyans; (2) the degeneration and decline of the Necromongers after Riddick left as the Lord Marshal, their plan and attempts at recovery, and subsequent capture of Dahl and (3) Riddick's hidden survival on a distant planet, eventual discovery and recruitment by Johns to rescue Dahl from the Necromongers, and his rendezvous with his Furyan past. The three story lines are intertwined, and finally converge literally on a single planet with a final reckoning with the Necromongers, providing answers to questions left unanswered in the movies regarding Riddick's family, the Furyians, Mercenaries, Necromongers, final destiny.

I originally wrote this for my Advanced English 12 class, but now I want to delete it off my computer. It's a short passage based off Rohld Dahl's short story "Skin". It's meant to play, at least a bit to each of the senses of the character in central Paris, pre-ww1. The story is a prequel of sorts, the reader gets to look in on the moment Dahl's protagonist Drioli meets the love of his life, Josie.
