Anyone who has been to one of Jay Gatsby's notorious parties has seen her. The angel. She stands in the back, tenderly sipping her drink. Nobody really knows who she is, their only clue is her first name, Linnet. Nick Carraway finds himself at another one of Gatsby's parties, his paths cross with Linnet and he sees that she has it bad for Gatsby himself. But he soon finds that she has a certain aura, one that Nick is getting drawn closer and closer into. Pretty soon he can't escape it. This book is based off of "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I do not own any of the characters, apart from Linnet, obviously. The plot is very obviously rewritten.

In this version, Gatsby is not dead but is not alive in the version he wanted to be in. Daisy is now near him but is still the furthest away from Gatsbys' mind. Some would say, he eradicated her. The Great Gatsby ending just didn't sit right with me. With Gatsby just dead and taking all the blame, I sat and thought of what I wanted the ending to be like. Although the movie and the novel end quite differently, I wrote this version to give me peace and clarity of mind. DISCLAIMER *I DID USE SOME OF THE NOVEL AND MOVIES DESCRIPTION AND REFERENCES TO SET THE SCENE AND I DO NOT CONSIDER THAT MY OWN WORK.

{Made in School; by me, Rogue} Rationale: In The Great Gatsby, the character Tom Buchanan is, stubborn, flaunts about his wealth, and the husband of Daisy. Above all else, Tom Buchanan is seen as villainous because he destroyed Jay Gatsby and his romantic dream of a life with Daisy. Adding to that he conspires with Daisy to allow Mr.Wilson to believe that it has been Gatsby himself who has driven the "yellow death car" that has stricken Myrtle. I wondered what Tom was thinking during this drama, action, choices he has made throughout the story and if it has it been influenced by his past. Specifically, how he felt about the specific part. I wondered if there was still more to Tom's story that we haven't heard. He showed how villainous he can be, but every villian, just like anyone else, has a backstory. The hotel is an important scene, not because it shows how stubborn he is, but how he disliked Jay Gatsby and wanted to expose him. It showed how much he actually loved Daisy, or atleast, showed some consideration of the idea of losing her to Gatsby. He doesn't show it, but Tom could be confused about how Daisy could love someone who's poor. Since both, Tom's and Daisy's parents, made them marry someone of high wealth.. Tom, like other men, have been conditioned to show brute strength, power, malicious intent, and being arrogance. He can't show how much he actually cares for Daisy or be seen as weak and those who see him showing this side would think he doesn't deserve the power he holds. Wanting love and having the thought of wanting extreme money, doesn't mix in a relationship. Marrying someone that's poor will show how disrespectful you are to your parents wishes. In addition, I choose Tom to be the character to show his point of view because there's always a backstory to antagonist of why they become this way or the choices they make.

Rose Carraway. The embodiment of a beautifully tainted rose, a blossoming flower, sprouting from the depths of sharp thorns, blooming towards the happy glowing sun. She was the balance in the Carraway family, the mess it had become, Nicks forced engagement, her mothers alcoholism, her fathers workaholic tendencies. Forcing the siblings hand to run, the engagement spooking Nick, and like the loyal sister she was, Rose left with Nick to New York, Long Island, and meets up accidentally with her past. Just before Gatsby was shipped of to war, he'd met the pure beauty that was Rose Carraway, and no longer was his mind set for Daisy, it was Daisy's cousin instead. Rose Carraway completely took over Jay Gatsby's mind, the daring Daisy Faye, 5 years newly Buchanan now gone from any object of Gatsby's affection. But as the well known tale went in the original Gatsby, the two were split, and Rose Carraway felt an extreme loss, clamming herself up, never allowing herself to love again. Withering in the depths of her own garden, wilting away with every sob and gasp, drying herself up. Until her sun walked in - her brother, Nick Carraway, lifted her up and nursed her to health. But this time, Rose Carraway expresses promise, new beginnings, and hope. Her strongly built thorns defending her heart, building her strength, never letting a man handle her gruesomely. But unfortunately it made her cynical, the loss of love, the lack of parents. She became a little thoughtless, riddled with the inability to hold care for anyone but her brother. Will Jay Gatsby bring back the life he took from Rose Carraway? Or will Rose's stubbornness push him away?

A Great Gatsby fanfiction (Jay x Nick).🌷 ᴜɴғɪɴɪsʜᴇᴅ ••• Jay "West Egg Millionaire" Gatsby planned every single detail of his life, for the sole purpose of one woman: Daisy Buchanan.
