**repost of the authors original story!!! Dalaric "Ricky" Mikael was known for two things; being the country's best assassin, and being a silent brute. His demons enveloped him in darkness, and he saw no light at the end of any tunnel. Until a girl- who's weird and wears nothing but a pair of black jeans and t-shirts that are too big for her, called him pretty.

Somewhere in the silence, something old is waking - not for vengeance, but for balance. They thought the monster was Klaus. They thought the vow was Elijah. They thought the weapon was power. But what if the storm was Damon? Quick reminder: Monster is a slow-burn.

Damon and Alaric have always been the most unlikely pair of friends, but when Alaric dies, Damon is left without a helpful shoulder to cry on and Alaric is stuck with a friend in need on the other side of the veil. (Side note) This fanfic is not a traditional characterxcharacter. It's just a very heartfelt moment between two best friends.
