Dalek Caan escaped the Crucible, leaving his doomed kind to the inevitable future as he searched for his own. Running, or rather, falling, into the life of hybridised Dalek Sec once more in 1934, he learns more about the humans and ties loose ends with his former leader.

At one point, a somewhat short time ago for him but far in the future for us as we know it, this particular Dalek was the Chief Strategist for the pride of the Dalek fleet: the massive, grand Brigade 116. But that was then. Now, after much conflict, he has a name, a home, a companion, and a vast capacity for emotions. On a mission to do his duty and prevent the destruction of the Daleks from reaching Earth, however, Cai finds that he has to reencounter his despised past in the most discouraging of ways. This is a small part of a larger story I'm working on called "Emptiness of the Daleks." I don't own Doctor Who, nor did I create the Daleks. I created Cai and Camille, however, and all the individual little mad Daleks in between. I also created the cover image.
