Hey! So, I have a few Herbert West one shots I've written and thought I could share them on here. I'll take request if anyone wants. I may do a few smut one shots as well. And because its Herbert, there's obviously going to be gore. I hope you guys enjoy! I don't own any of the characters or anything.

• life's too short to be dancing with the devil • It had been 30 years since Dan Cain last saw that madman, Herbert West. 30 years since he saw his former friend being carted off to prison. 30 years since Dan had vowed to never think of him or his insane experiments ever again. 30 years since Dan promised himself a fresh start. The year is 2020. Dan is getting his groceries. And in that store, Dan sees Herbert West.

This is a canon divergent story that takes place directly after the first Re-Animator. Nothing that is revealed in later movies is canonical here unless directly stated. Spoilers warning Its been three months since Herbert West's death in the Miskatonic Massacre and Dan is plagued by the uncertainty of whether or not he did all he could have. Eventually, his guilt leads him back to the hospital where it all happened and he makes a shocking discovery that gives him new hope.

Reanimator swap au Danbert, set after the events of Bride, but Herbert saved Dan.
