Following the events of "Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School," Komaru Naegi and Touko Fukawa leave Towa City in order to return home to their normal lives. It seems that the despair-inducing effect that nearly overtook the world is long gone... At least, that's what they hope is the truth.

All of the Warriors of Hope survived their executions, just like in the anime. Though, instead of hiding, they came back to confront Monaca about how suspicious she was. They began to turn against her, so Monaca decided to up her game. Manipulating everyone, starting with the easiest target, Nagisa, she used him to force everyone else to forgive her. ...Though, later in time, the falling ceiling situation happened again. Last time Monaca was able to save herself, but this time, she was distracted by the mere sight of wanting Despair. Just like in the actual game, she called and pleaded for help for Kotoko, as well as Nagisa, Masaru and Jataro. And to what cost? Was she left behind, or was she forgiven for the third time? Monaca's fate is in the Warriors of Hope's hands. Are they able to let her change, or leave her to die?

Imagine a different world. A world where the hostages from DR: AE weren't put in hotel apartments and then a demon hunting frenzy, and instead into a killing game just like the one their families are in. This is that world.
