(slow updates) (Non-Despair AU) Maki and Kaito were best friends, they thought nothing could break them apart.. but apparently they were wrong. Maki had left her best friend and moved away for the sake of the assassin business. But while she's there, a major incident occurs.. Maki had gotten amnesia, and couldn't remember anything from before. Will she remember Kaito when she meets him again..? There are multiple ships in the story but it will manly focused on saiouma and tenmiko (is that there ship name?) yuh yuh 💃💃 What else do i say? Idk? Okay so this Au is basically Junko never existed (murkuro is still alive tho) and (despite canon age differences) I wanted to make an Au where every single danganronpa character (no-one in in udg other than komaru) knew each other since they were little. Another thing to add is because of this some characters backstory will be slightly altered due to this au but there personalities will be round about the same.Also I like the fan-theory that Nagito and Sonia are siblings so I decided to use that in this au. (Just one more thing No-one has there talents other than Nagito,Fuyuhiko and Peko and the others talents are just hobbies there good at and Sonia isn't a princess. Tsumugi and Murkuro are good people in this AU as well.) All ships in this Au is my opinion and don't hate on them. Hopefully you enjoy reading this and have a good day/ night.

Turns out their past selves were childhood friends who eventually fell in love and had been in a rather serious relationship before joining the game. Will Kokichi's lingering crush on the detective and their slowly returning memories of the past become the downfall of their newfound friendship, or will it spark something more? This fic was heavily inspired by the fic "Second Chances" on AO3 by Lethargic_Lilac. It's a really good read and I highly recommend it. I hope you'll all enjoy my own personal take on the idea.
