This game takes place twenty-five years before the Trigger Happy Havoc game. Fifteen students who are the first to be able to attend Hope's Peak Academy find themselves waking up in what appears to be a hotel room, after they knew for certain that they were just about to walk into the school. The hotel they wake up in is an old, abandoned hotel, repurposed specially for the killing game. None of the doors have windows. The doors to the exits are unlocked, but the students find themselves imprisoned in a tall, steel gate surrounding the hotel building. The game is just like all others that will follow it, murder one of your fellow students, and you will be able to graduate, with the rest of the class being executed. failing to keep your crime a secret will result in your own execution. You follow the life of Reiji Shimura, a self-proclaimed "average" kid.
