A boy, Ben Barlow, senior in high school, seems to be the only one who is still "shy" or hasn't "opened up to anyone" in his classes, it's not that he doesn't want too, it's that he can't, or is too afraid to? That's until he meets Kayla, A girl who feels, and thinks the same way as ben.

The year is 1971, and America is in crisis. With the Vietnam war still raging, protests in the streets and the deep unrest continues. Violet Jones is trying to battle the government, along with her own inner turmoil. With her luck, she won't defeat either. Ben Barlow is simply lost. He's not entirely sure how he wound up in America, and he definitely doesn't know what to do now. He and Violet have that last bit in common.

Life, it has many different meanings. To me, at least before I found my passion, was just repeating the same dreadful activities over and over again. I hated doing the same motions everyday, hell it was tiring. I spent over a year of my life dealing with the same people, the same town, the same things every day. However, when I get to take part in the tour of a lifetime, everything changes.

Everett Morgan is an ambitious young reporter for the alternative music magazine, Deviant Mag. Although she is only 24, she has significant experience in the journalism business and aims to humanize the artists and band members she interviews. She is a career woman and perfectionist who loves work almost as much as the music scene she writes about- but what happens when one of her interview subjects becomes more than just another story she tells?
