The Cohort is steadily getting more violent, and Downworlders are frenzied, believing the Clave needs to take steps to stop the Cohort. The Wild Hunt is on a dangerous quest: Find Annabel. After the battle between the Shadowhunters and the Endarkened the Blackthorn children return to the Los Angeles Institute, together with the Cross family - Gideon, Alexandria and their two children Grayson and Amelia. While everyone else seems to accept the Clave's decision not to look for Mark Blackthorn, who is still missing, Amelia is determined to find him. Not willing to accept the fact that he might be lost forever, she starts looking for him on her own.
