A thought experiment places two identical marbles at 36,000 km altitude: one at the top of a space tower, the other in an adjacent geostationary satellite. At the moment of release, both share the exact same position, velocity and coordinates. Yet one falls while the other remains in orbit. The author argues that an object's instantaneous state - position plus velocity - is an incomplete description of reality. He proposes that matter accumulates what he calls "antigravitational dark energy" through its historical trajectory: the tower's marble carries a history of mechanical tension; the satellite's, a history of inertial equilibrium in permanent freefall.
