Harrowdon is a town corrupted by greed and cursed by a witch for stealing the jewels that kept her alive. Because of this, the town cannot be touched by light. Until Zara is born. Zara's tears produce light that lasts for 3 months. Her parents sold her off at an early age to the town, and it seems she is trapped forever in a place where she is treated like a goddess and then tormented until she cries. Can she ever hope to escape?
