Well then this is for you. "In the Moonlight" is a shortish addition to Leigh Bardugo's original story. It presents what could have been between Alina and the Darkling if Mal hadn't found the stag that fast. The story begins after the Darkling leaves the ball and will end when Mal finally finds the stag.

The fireworks between them are dangerous and they both risk banishment or even death if they admit their feelings. Will they be able to ignore the sparks and do their job? Slowburn darklina/ alarkling fanfic set after ruin and rising except i had to ignore the ending. It was too painful so im now im here, writing my own ending.
