After the death of her beloved grandfather, Alice O'Donoughue travels to Kerry, Ireland to gather the last of her grandfather's things, and maybe settle his unfinished business and learn more about where she has come from. There seems to be a slight dent, however, when she suffers strange dreams about a boy who drowns in a cave, never to be seen again. The vestige of the boy never seems to leave her, and what she discovers is a world that goes beyond any story she has ever known.
