Mula sa malayong Planetang Marte, may dalawang magkaibigang reyna: si Reyna Adran ng mapayapang lahing Adranikan, at si Reyna Braguda ng lahing Anomalkan na parang ahas. Nangako si Braguda na aagawin ang magandang Planetang Daigdig, kaya inagaw ni Adran ang Puting Bato ng Kapangyarihan - na kailangan ni Braguda kasama ang kanyang Itim na Bato para sa pananakop - at nagkaroon ng mahabang digmaan na naging dahilan ng pagkawasak ng Marte. Bago mamatay ang planeta, ipinadala ni Adran ang kanyang tagapayo na si Aio patungo sa Daigdig upang itago ang bato, habang hinahabol naman siya ni Braguda. Sa Daigdig, nahulog ang Puting Bato sa lalawigan ng Laguna at natagpuan ng sampung taong gulang na si Narda, na anak ni Prospera. Dito rin ipinakilala ang kapalaran ni Valentina: isang kalahating-tao at kalahating-Anomalkan na isinilang din kay Prospera matapos itong gawan ng paraan ng isang tumakas na nilalang mula sa Marte. Magkamag-anak sina Narda at Valentina, ngunit lumaki silang magkalaban - puno ng inggit at galit si Valentina dahil sa kanyang kalagayan at sa tingin niyang mas magandang kapalaran ni Narda. Lumipas ang walong taon, at noong 18 anyos na si Narda, narinig niya ang tinig ng bato na nag-uutos sa kanya na lunukin ito at sabihing "Darna". Sa sandaling iyon, siya ay naging Darna - ang makapangyarihang mandirigma at tagapagtanggol ng Daigdig.
