Will Gumball ever win the affections of Penny? How will Darwin react when Banana Joe chews up his pen? And what happens when Gumball and Darwin get their first cell phone? After all the events during The Vacation- Trouble In Paradise, a year has passed and The Watterson family has only grown closer. Gumball has reconnected completely with his extended family, and in the space of a year, his children, Tristan and Penelope, have grown so much. He still has his loving wife by his side, he and his brother Darwin have grown closer over the events last two years, and as a result, both of their children now have close bonds to their uncles. Meanwhile, Anais is coming home to Elmore at last after spending 6 months away conducting her research for whatever it was she does (no one else in the family really understands!) and some time with all the family together will be just what she needs after being gone so long. Now another Christmas is on the horizon, and, not that anyone knows it, but it will be one to remember... This is a tribute story to @SpartaofGreece who is the author of my favourite TAWOG fanfic series "The Vacation" and I wanted to make this as a small Christmas special (and if Sparta wants to use it as a prequel for The Vacation 3 if a third one comes out, then feel free!) Obviously I own none of these characters (except for three). All rights belong to Cartoon Network/The Amazing World of Gumball/Ben Bocquelet and SpartaofGreece.

One fateful night, Gumball vanishes without a trace. No Messages. Just Gone. After hopeless searches, the town of Elmore moves on quickly... But Darwin can't. Now he must take the lead in finding who took his brother; he teams up with Anais, Penny, and Carrie to uncover the truth behind his brother's disappearance and bring him home.

Based on the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" Written and posted on Christmas 2024, edited with some slight additions on Christmas 2025.

Summary: After Darwin is left in the pond and abandoned by his family, the Wattersons need to figure out how to live without Darwin and forgive themselves for abandoning him. Meanwhile, Darwin is trying to figure out why he was left in the cold, dark, pond, when all he wanted was a bigger fish tank. Will Darwin be reunited with his family? Or will he be alone forever? Notes: This AU is written from Gumball's perspective (most of the time.) If a chapter is in a different character's perspective, that will be stated in the notes at the beginning of the chapter. This AU is also based off the season four episode, The Roots.

The Watterson family is depicted as a fun loving, exciting family, but what happens behind the scenes? What happens in the depths of Elmore when the camera isn't rolling? What is the real meaning behind the way their wacky world works? This story explores the 'What ifs' of the show. It also is scenerios that are made up and do not take place inside the show.
